BURNS — What does Tara Ludwig and Burns batters have in common?

The Huskies hurler stifled opposing batters Tuesday, tossing a gem on the mound in an 11-0 opening victory.  Her team followed that pounding with a 12-1 victory in Game 2, sweeping their doubleheader.

Ludwig (3-for-4), Katie Griffin (2-for-3) and Ashley Burgess each smacked doubles, leading Elgin/Imbler at the plate in the opener. 

In the sequel, Griffin (double), Burgess (triple, home run), Ludwig (home run) and Tara Witherspoon (two doubles, triple) stood out. 

“We’re looking pretty good right now,” said Griffin, whose team is 13-5, 7-1. “If everything works out for us, we have a shot at making the postseason.”
