UNION — Elgin coach Chad Peck called it a “glorified practice” as his team and host Union competed in the Runners Twilight Tuesday.

The Bobcats’ James Fasel won the 1,500-meter race (6:46.10). Cory Bennett won the 300-hurdles (49.48) and was also part of two winning sprint relay teams.

On the girls side, the Bobcats’ Kate Stewart won the 300-low hurdles (1:02.56) and Anna Courtney was a part of two first-place relay teams.

Elgin and Union will compete at the Jo-Hi invite Saturday. Field events start at 10 a.m. Running events start at 1 p.m.
