Another game, another home run for Travis Ludwig and G.D. Clark. The Elgin bombers led the way in a doublheader sweep at Pine Eagle, 14-5, 14-1. Clark blasted a two-run homer in the first, then followed with a grand slam in the third, finishing with 7 RBIs. James Hardy earned the win on the mound, striking out five batters through seven innings. In the second game, it was Ludwig’s turn at the plate. He hits a “monster home run,” said Elgin coach Greg Luse, which still may be traveling. “ Geez,” Luse said, “ it must’ve been a mile high and it cleared the fence by 40 more feet.” Ludgwig and Clark each have four home runs on the season. In the second game, Jake Kennedy earned the win on the mound, striking out five batters — not bad for a kid who hasn’t even pracitced pitching this season. Then Dillan Moore faced six batters to close the game, and struck out five.
