Enterprise, Wallowa finish at state

REDMOND -La Grande’s Carrie Wallace finished in 23rd place at the 4A/3A/2A/1A state golf tournament at Eagle Crest Golf Course Tuesday. Wallace shot an 88 on the second day of play after carding a 94 on Monday to finish with a two-day total of 182. Freshman Kayli Miles placed 45th overall with a total of 204. Miles shaved six strokes off her opening-round total of 105 to card a 99. Freshman Kaitlin Collom of Henley won the individual crown with a 144. Collom shot 71/73 to finish even par, three strokes better than second-place Monica Vaughn of Reedsport.
Enterprise boys place 11th BANKS —- The Enterprise boys golf team finished in 11th place at the 3A/2A/1A state tournament at Quail Valley Golf Course. The Outlaws finished with a two-day total of 778, shooting 387/391. Wallowa placed 13th in the team standing with a score of 816. The Cougars shot a 416 on Day 1 but bounced back with a 400 on Tuesday. Wallowa’s Pierce Millar finished in a tie four-way tie for 29th. Millar shot back-to-back 87s to finish at 174. Cove’s Sergio Morris tied for 36th with a total of 178. Morris opened with an 87 but carded a 91 on Tuesday. Brock Hayes led Enterprise with a 44th-place finish. Hayes shot 97/87 to finish at 184. Teammates Cody Hopkins (197) and Jordan Wulff (198) finished 57th and 58th, respectively, while Wallowa’s Karl Wellens (202) finished 61st. |
