FORMER BULL RIDING CHAMP PLANS VISIT

MISSION Four-time world champion bull rider Tuff Hedeman will visit Wildhorse Resort & Casino from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9.

Hedeman, the founder and president of the Professional Bull Riders Tour, will sign autographs and discuss his bull riding exploits with visitors.

In addition to meeting Hedeman, the public will have a chance to win tickets to the US Bank/Pendleton PBR Classic on Sept. 10.

Hedeman is known for his close relationship with fellow bull rider Lane Frost, who was killed during a competition at the Cheyenne Frontier Days in 1988. A 1994 movie, 8 seconds, starring Luke Perry as Frost and Stephen Baldwin as Hedeman, tells a story of a marriage dissolving, as Frost puts his focus and passion into his rodeoing with pals like Hedeman.

Hedeman was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1997. After retiring three years ago from riding after a string of serious neck injuries, the Texan now dedicates his time to the PBR Tour, televised weekly on TNN. He also travels America promoting the sport.

Wildhorse Resort & Casino is four miles east of Pendleton at the Interstate 84 Mission exit.
