Todd McAndie and Tyler Tucker shouldnt be considered freshmen anymore.

The two La Grande golfers tied for second Friday at the third annual Quinn Memorial at the La Grande Country Club as the Tigers easily beat Pendleton, 309-315.

It was wonderful. Two wins in a row and to beat Pendleton two straight weeks, La Grande coach Don McAndie said.

Were peaking at the right time with a couple of tournaments left before districts.

La Grande edged the Buckaroos last week by one stroke at the Pendleton Invitational, 304-305.

And the Tigers did it with a strong performance from its top four varsity players, who all shot in the 70s. Austin Young had the fourth-best score of the tournament with a 78, and Zach Lauritzen shot a 79.

Enterprise, the two-time defending Class 2A state champion, is also surging, scoring a 336 for fifth place in a tournament that featured all 4A and 3A schools.

Austin Livingston shot a team-best 80 for Enterprise, followed closely by Cory Siebes 82.

Enterprise and La Grande travel to Wildhorse Golf Course in Mission Monday for a pre-district tournament.
