GOLF TOURNEY TO BENEFIT HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
The Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation along with Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of Eastern Oregon and Legacy Ford will sponsor the 11th annual Grande Ronde Amateur Golf Tournament Sept. 16, 17 and 18 at the La Grande Country Club.
The three-day tournament will conclude Sunday afternoon with 10, two-person teams competing in an alternate shot nine-hole sole survivor contest starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
The tournament is open to men and women with an established USGA handicap. The proceeds from the tournament and benefit auction help to purchase patient care equipment at Grande Ronde Hospital.
The foundation will be purchasing an iCAD system for the Radiology Department this year. The system will provide enhanced technology for mammography screening and breast cancer detection.
"It went great last year," said Meredith Lair of the GRH Foundation. "Our auction made more than it ever had before, and we had about 90 players come out.
"It's becoming a very established tournament."
The tournament dinner, catered by Cock & Bull Villa Roma, will be Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at the country club.
Player registration forms are available at the La Grande Country Club, the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation office or by calling 963-1431.
Tickets to attend the benefit auction to follow dinner at 8 p.m. are available for $25 by calling the foundation office at 963-1431.
