Huskies silence Baker in the snow

BAKER CITY — Neither rain, snow or a change of venue could deter Elgin from picking up its first win of the year. The Huskies defeated the Baker junior varsity team 13-3. Weather forced the game down I-84 to Baker City, but the snow made its way late in the game. “You could hardly see by the end of the game,” Elgin head coach Greg Loose said. “It was a great way to start the season. It was a total team effort.” G.D. Clark went 2-of-4 from the plate with four RBIs. Travis Ludwig recorded two doubles and drove in three runs. Clark picked up the win for the Huskies. Elgin will travel to Pilot Rock Friday for a noon doubleheader.
