BAKER CITY—An explosive run to open the second half propelled Imbler past Cove, 53-32, sending them into the district title game tonight versus Joseph at 8:15. Want to see balanced scoring? Imbler ripped off a 14-2 run to open the third quarter, turning a tight affair into a rout. “They turned up a notch on their defense,” Cove coach Jason Gorham said. “They really came out with a lot of intensity after halftime. For Cove, Katy Puckett and Beth Yergen scored nine points each and Mariah Murchison had seven. The Leopards will play Powder Valley today at 2:15 p.m. in the third place game. With a win, they’ll advance into the state tournament. “That’s been our goal all season long,” Gorham said. “That’s where we want to finish the season, is in the state playoffs.

With the win, Joseph advances into the district championship at 8:15 tonight versus Imbler. Powder will play Cove at 2:15 p.m. in the third-place game. With a win, Powder will advance into the state tournament. As for this game, Paige Bailey scored 16, Megan Yost 13 and Nicke Parks 10. “It was a well-rounded game,” Eagles coach Lance Homan said. “We played hard from start to finish.” Kara Harris hit two baskets from three-point land for the Badgers.
