KIDS CAN LEARN HOOP SKILLS FROM EOU COACHES

Children in grades kindergarten through sixth will be able to improve their basketball skills Nov. 15 under the supervision of Eastern Oregon University coaches.

The Mountaineers basketball clinic, beginning with registration at 9:30 a.m., is open to boys and girls. Children will be grouped by age and ability.

Instruction will be provided by EOU coaching staff members including men's head coach Art Furman and coaches Jason Peterson and Bubba Williams. Mountaineer varsity players also will assist.

The clinic emphasizes skill development, personal development and fun, according to Furman.

The clinic will begin with opening remarks at 10 a.m. It will feature teaching stations and contests and games that conclude at 12:30 p.m.

The fee is $15. Family discounts will be available.

Those who pay at the door should call 962-3946 to indicate their intention to participate. The child's name, grade and school and telephone number should be mentioned.

Pariticpants will get a:

• Video tape analysis of their shot.

• Ticket to EOU's game with Southhern Oregon University at 1 p.m. that day.

• Game ticket to a doubleheader with EOU playing Evergreen State College Dec. 17.

• Seven-foot baskets available for the younger children.

• Various contests and prizes.
