LA GRANDE TRACK ZIPS TO EUGENE

The moment has arrived: the Class 3A State Track Meet is Friday and Saturday.
Eighteen Tigers will head to the University of Oregon in Eugene for the event.
The competition from throughout the state will be tough, but the Tigers come in having won two district titles May 22.
It's the first time La Grande has won the boys' and girls' district titles in the same year.
Among the state qualifiers is Rick Anderson, the highest seed of La Grande state qualifiers. Anderson is seeded second in the 400-meter dash at 50.27 seconds.
He will face stiff competition from Rob Gillespie of Marist, who has the fastest time at 49.88 seconds.
The state meet kicks off Friday with the field and running events at 10:30 a.m. The gates open at 9 a.m.
On Saturday, the gates open at 8:30 a.m. The field events begin at 10 a.m., the running events at 1 p.m.
Friday's admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Saturday's admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.
The La Grande girls' state qualifiers are:
Freshman Kirsten Johnson in the 1,500-meter run (No. 16 seed; 5 minutes, 13.9 seconds).
Senior Jessica Fulfer in the 3,000 (No. 18 seed, 11:50.02).
Freshman Cora Beach in the 100-meter hurdles (No. 12 seed, 16.98).
Senior Amanda Timm in the 300 hurdles (No. 9 seed, 48.18) and high jump (No. 12 seed, 5 feet).
4x100-meter relay team (Beach, Amber Rasmussen, Amanda Timm, Kylee Winkler, Jacque Wiseman, Crystal Kevan) (No. 6 seed, 51.18).
Senior Breezy Fredricksen in the pole vault (9-0).
The La Grande boys' state qualifiers are:
Junior Rick Anderson in the 400-meter dash (No. 2 seed, 50.27).
Senior Leif Bullock in the 1,500 (No. 11 seed, 4:16.53).
Senior Dane Johnson in the 3,000 (No. 16 seed, 9:42.53).
4x100-meter relay team (Kyle Puckett, Kelley Burgess, Nathan Humphreys, Anderson, Tom McKinney, Kevin Bomberger) (No. 6 seed, 44.16).
4x400-meter relay team (Anderson, Travis Dixon, Sean Crow, Puckett, Matt Hibbert, Bullock) (No. 11 seed, 3:33.30).
Freshman Nathan Humphreys in the long jump (No. 14 seed, 19-10.5) and high jump (No. 21 seed, 5-10).
Junior Jason Karrels in the long jump (No. 16 seed, 19-6).
