REDMOND — It came down to the 18th hole, but the golf ball wouldn't settle at the bottom of the cup leaving La Grande's Kelli Greenough tied with Ontario's Anna Jaramillo for the individual 3A/2A/1A state championship honors at the Eagle Crest Ridge Course Tuesday.

"She had an opportunity to win with probably a 2- to 3-foot putt," La Grande coach Lonnie Myers said. "It went in the hole and flipped around and came out again."

Greenough ended up with a 79 Tuesday after posting an 80 Monday, leaving her with a combined two-day score of 159. Jaramillo had the exact same scores both days.

Greenough said she was a little disappointed about missing the last putt, but that she is so close to Jaramillo, she didn't mind sharing the title with her.

"I was glad that if I had to share the championship, that it was with Anna (Jaramillo)," she said.

Greenough said she is still "kind of in shock" about winning the co-championship. She said the title helps make up for a rough showing her junior year at state. She said she had a "case of the shanks" last year and didn't do as well as she would've liked.

"I had a pretty good feeling coming into it (this year), but I didn't know I would do this well," she said.

Greenough said her first day she was putting well, but not driving well. Her second day, she drove the ball strong, but struggled on the greens. "I had seven three-putts" the second day, she said.

"But, it all worked out in the end," she said.

The Tiger girls ended up sixth as a team with a 770. Greenough was the only Tiger finishing in the top 10. Bess Buzzard had a 194, Elizabeth Garton had a 204, Elizabeth Esser had a 213 and Aubrey Glaze had a 229.

Reedsport won the tournament with a 722 followed by Tillamook's 727, La Salle's 738 and Wilsonville's 739.
