La Grande moves to 7-0 in GOL
ONTARIO —The La Grande High School volleyball team breezed past Ontario Tuesday night to improve to 7-0 in the Greater Oregon League.
The Lady Tigers won 25-6, 25-5, 25-7.
“Our game plan was to serve tough,” coach Melinda Becker said.
“We only had two missed serves all night, so I’m really proud of the way we served.”
Olivia Trotter was 20 for 20 serving with 10 serving aces and seven kills.
Madison Elliott was a perfect 13 for 13 at the service line with eight assists, four aces and four kills.
Denise Comfort was also 13 for 13 serving with three kills, one ace and one stuffed block.
Brandi Blackman was two for two serving with one ace, while Lauren Mills added six stuffed blocks and three kills.
Anneliese Wiseman had three kills, two assists and one stuffed block, and Breanna Partney had three stuffed blocks along with one kill.
La Grande has lost only one set all season long in GOL play with two league matches remaining this season.
LHS will play host to Baker Thursday night starting at 6.
La Grande will honor its seniors prior to the match.
Baker is the only team in the Greater Oregon League to win a set against the Lady Tigers this season.
The Bulldogs come in with a 5-2 mark after defeating McLoughlin 3-1 (25-11, 25-19, 14-25, 25-18) Tuesday night.
LHS has a sweep and a 3-1 victory over Baker this season.
