The La Grande girls basketball team dominated the Greater Oregon League this past season, so it was no surprise that the Lady Tigers highlighted the all-league team.
Senior Breanna Partney was named the player of the year after helping LHS go 9-0 in the GOL.
Partney was instrumental in guiding La Grande to the state title game, putting up 26 points in the first-round game against Madras.
She scored 38 points in three games at the state tournament in Corvallis.
La Grande also landed two players on the GOL first team, with seniors Lauren Mills and Denise Comfort getting the honors.
Mills was the league’s player of the year a season ago before getting named to the all-state second team.
Joining Mills and Comfort as first-team selections were Ontario’s Jessica Lang, a senior, and teammate Riley Helmick, a sophomore.
McLoughlin junior Makia Carlson rounded out the first team nominees.
La Grande senior Madison Elliott earned second team all-GOL honors.
She was joined by London Wettstein and Rylee Salutregui of Ontario, and Michelle Freese and Michelle Birkmaier of Baker.
Junior Haley White and freshman Avery Albrecht gained honorable mention in the all-league voting for La Grande.
Molly Bond and Aliya Yano of Ontario also made the team, along with Whitney Lemmon and Brie Sand of Baker, and Mackenzie Fite and Avery Wells of McLoughlin.
