UNION — Union and the weather attacked Corbett from all angles.

The Lady Cats softball team defeated Corbett 6-1 Friday.

Winds whistled around at 30 mph, and gusted to more than 50 mph adding another level of difficulty to hitting.

Sophomore Jessy Reynolds added another level with her fastball. The Union hurler tallied 15 strikeouts, and allowed one hit.

“I learned a lot about this team today,” ’Cats head coach Steve Robertson said. “The girls were mentally tough all game. I thought they handled the elements really well. It was the most miserable day I’ve seen in all my years coaching.”

Cubs finally find the field

UNION — The third time was a charm — at least for three innings.

Enterprise/Joseph finally stepped out onto the field for a game.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow for a full game.

“I was just happy to get a few innings in,” Cubs head coach Travis Huffman said. “The girls did fairly well with handling the weather.”

Theresa Stangel recorded eight strikeouts in three innings.

Enterprise/Joseph will host Union at noon Friday.
