Lady Tigers sink Baker
BAKER CITY — The La Grande volleyball team ran its record to 10-1 overall with a sweep over rival Baker Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers won 25-15, 25-19, 25-16.
“As a group we played well,” LHS head coach Melinda Becker-Bisenius said. “We ran a quicker offense. We wanted to work on things on our side of the net. We didn’t make as many mental mistakes.”
La Grande was on fire at the service line. The Lady Tigers missed only three serves for the match, and Brandi Blackman, Lilly Page, Cassidy Crites, Anna Grigsby, Cassandra Brownell and Kali Avila all served 100 percent for the match.
“We talked about serving tougher,” Becker-Bisenius said. “That was one of our goals and we did a nice job of it.”
Kendall Kirkland added 19 assists, and Hannah Cashell had 11 kills and seven digs. Avila had nine digs, Grigsby finished with six kills, Brownell had four kills and Crites had five kills.
La Grande will host McLoughlin Thursday at 6 p.m. La Grande’s “Pink Game” is Tuesday. The Lady Tigers will host Baker starting at 5 p.m.
