Leopards stopped by St. Paul

ST. PAUL — The Leopards’ offense never got on track on the road against St. Paul.

Cove fell to the Buckaroos 42-6 Friday, dropping to 1-2 this  season.

The Leopards’ defense kept the team in the game, trailing 14-6 at the half. But, St. Paul (3-0) erupted for 28 points in the final 24 minutes of play.

Jared Witty led the Cove attack with 105 rushing yards on 21 carries. Witty scored the lone touchdown on a 36-yard run.

The Leopards will travel to Tri-Cities Prep Friday for a 7 p.m. game.

Panthers power past Sherman

 

SHERMAN — Imbler continued its dominance Friday, shutting down Sherman 66-14.

The Panthers improved to 3-0 this season heading into a bye week.

Wesley Burgess helped put the game away early with three touchdown runs in the first quarter, as Imbler pulled away 46-8 after 12 minutes of play.

Burgess finished the game with 112 rushing yards on 12 attempts.

Defensively, Burgess returned an interception 58 yards for touchdown.

Jace Eisiminger carried the ball 10 times for 89 yards.

Imbler will host Wallowa Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. to open the Special District 4 schedule.

Wallowa offense explodes in Adrian

ADRIAN — Wallowa’s offensive show traveled to Adrian Friday.

The Cougars (2-1) came away with a 74-44 win.

Tyler Harshfield helped account for nine touchdowns. The senior quarterback completed 16 of his 21 passes for 361 yards and six touchdowns. On the ground, Harshfield amassed 159 yards on 15 carries, scoring three times.

Ronald Gladden caught six passes for 157 yards and three touchdowns.

Cody Green helped out in the ground game, running for 101 yards on 14 attempts.

Wallowa will travel to Touchet, Wash., Friday for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The Indians are 1-1 on the season.
