PORTLAND — The Eastern Oregon University softball team dropped four Cascade Conference games this weekend.

The Mountaineers lost to Northwest (2-1, 2-1) Friday, before falling to Concordia (8-0, 2-1) Saturday.

In Game 1 against Northwest, EOU’s Katie Martell led the Mountaineers, going 1-for-3 at the plate with one RBI. Mariebeth Watanabe also went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored EOU’s only run.

The Eagles were led by Lauren Robinson, who went 2-or-3 at the plate with two RBIs. Teammate Sarah Payne went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Game 2 was tied 1-1 after seven innings and went into extra innings. Four innings later the Eagles scored in the bottom of the 11th to take a 2-1 victory.

EOU’s Georgianna Kelly went 1-for-4 at the plate with one RBI, while Gracie Flyg went 2-for-4 and had EOU’s only run.

Against the Cavaliers Satuday, Eastern struggled from the plate in the first game as it only recorded two hits. EOU’s Rachel Hatzell went 1-for-2 from the plate, while Watanabe went 1-for-3.

The Cavaliers were led by Kate Santos, who went 2-for-3 from the plate with three RBIs and two home runs.

Robin Gawlista went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs.

In the second game, Concordia took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning, but EOU followed with a run in the fourth.

But the Mountaineers wouldn’t score again as they dropped their sixth game in a row.

Alex Hillmick led the Mountaineers, going 1-for-3 from the plate with an RBI.

Cassie Wendt went 1-for-3 and had EOU’s only run.

Katie Aden went 2-for-2 from the plate with one RBI for Concordia, while teammate Tobey Varney went 1-for-2 from the plate with one RBI.
