Mountaineers rally late to pull away from LCSC
LEWISTON, Idaho — The Eastern Oregon University men's basketball used a 9-1 run over the final two minutes of the game to post a 66-63 non-conference win over Lewis-Clark State College on Friday night.
Tony Eackles Jr. was 8-for-11 from the flow to lead the Mountaineers with 21 points.
With just over two minutes left in the game, the Mountaineers trailed 62-57, but Eastern Oregon (8-1 overall) picked up the defense, allowing the Warriors to score one point the rest of the game.
The Moutaineers held a 39-30 rebounding advantage and were led by Kyllian Wood and Tavin Hurley, who each had seven boards.
E.J. Farris led the Warriors (8-1) with 30 points.
EOU returns to the court on Dec. 6 when they travel to The Evergreen State College to open conference play. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
