MILTON-FREEWATER — A week off didn’t slow down La Grande.

The Tigers defeated Mac-Hi 71-37 Tuesday, improving to 7-0 in league play.

“We got off to a slow start,” La Grande head coach Aaron Mills said.

“(Mac-Hi) was ready for us, and they played tough the whole game. We didn’t play great defense early on. The team picked it up in the second half.”

The Tigers led 14-11 after one quarter, but built a lead as big as 40 points during a season sweep against the Pioneers.

La Grande used its size to grab 19 offensive rebounds and 14 defensive rebounds during the game.

Luke Kevan paced the team with 22 points and eight rebounds.

The Tigers (21-1) will travel to Ontario for a 7:30 p.m. MT tip-off Friday.
