PILOT ROCK ELIMINATES LA GRANDE

Pilot Rock eliminates La Grande By The Observer Pilot Rock and La Grande combined for the same amount of hits, but it was Pilot Rock that came out on top Tuesday. La Grande was eliminated by Pilot Rock 5-1 in the consolation bracket of the District 3 Girls Little League Juniors Softball Tournament. Pilot Rock struck first, scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning, but La Grande tied the contest with a run in the top of the second. Three runs in the third inning turned the tide in Pilot Rocks direction for good. Pilot Rock added a run in the sixth inning as La Grande never could get on track offensively. Today at 12:30 p.m., Union County plays Baker City in the championship semifinals. The loser will face Pilot Rock at 3 p.m. Thursday.
