PSHYCO SCRUBS WIN MOONLIGHT CO-ED TOURNAMENT

The Psycho Scrubs won the Optimist Club Co-ed Moonlight Softball Tournament Sunday.

The Psycho Scrubs, a team consisting primarily of former and current Eastern Oregon University athletes, beat Kube-a-Lube of Pendleton 8-4 in the championship game Sunday afternoon.

Coming in third were the Baker Outlaws and fourth was Ever-Ready, a La Grande team.

In fifth was Fisher Construction of Pendleton and coming in sixth was Partney Construction of La Grande.

Midway Tavern of Hermiston and Ironhead Construction of Vale tied for seventh, while Century 21 won the consolation title.

Making the tournament All-Star team was Jake Tolan, Jake Starr, Nicole Christian and JoElle Kaatz of Psycho Scrubs; Shawn Pierce and Leslie Cain of Kube-a-Lube; Tom Hayes and Myka Spriete of the Baker Outlaws; Scott Allen and Dina Copher of Ever-Ready; Annie Franks of Fisher Construction; Brian Myers of Partney Construction; Chris Pruett of Midway Tavern; Nate Aldred of Ironhead Construction and Roger Wright of Century 21.

A total of 26 teams from northeastern Oregon participated in the tournament that ran non-stop from Friday night to Sunday afternoon.

A tired group of Optimists will have to gear up next weekend for an even bigger moonlight tournament. A total of 36 teams will compete in this weekend's all-men's tournament.
