QUINN CLASSIC HEATS UP TONIGHT
Today and Saturday will see the return of the Quinn Classic to Eastern Oregon University.
The fifth annual Quinn Classic will welcome Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma, Wash., NCAA Div. III), Carroll College (Helena, Mont., NAIA), and San Jose (Calif.) Christian College (United State Collegiate Athletic Association) to the Quinn Coliseum gym.
The first game will pit Pacific Lutheran against Carroll at 6 p.m. today
Then, the 2-2 Mountaineers will take on San Jose Christian at 8 p.m. The winners and non-winners will face each other on Saturday at the same times.
Eastern is coming off a 113-point explosion Wednesday night over Walla Walla. It was the most points Eastern had scored since 1999.
Eastern is led by point guard Tyree Jones, who is averaging 24 points and 4.8 assists a game despite a sore groin. Bryan Rabas is averaging 14.3 points a game.

Meanwhile, the Eastern women will look to maintain their perfect mark tonight at the Whitman College Wildhorse Classic in Walla Walla.
The Mountaineers, who are 3-0 and off to their best start since 1984-85, will open up the tournament with host Whitman (2-0).
Like Eastern, Whitman can score, as the Missionaries are averaging 74 points a game. Eastern is averaging nearly 86.
Eastern has six women averaging more than eight points a game. The Mountaineers are led by Jamie Jo Cant's 15 points a game, followed by Michelle Kinley at 14.7 and Tricia Haddock at 13.3 points per game.
On Saturday, Eastern Oregon will face Walla Walla College in the second day of the tournament. The Wolves are 3-7 on the season.
The Mountaineers and Wolves have only met one other time. In 2001, Eastern soundly defeated Walla Walla, 86-22 in La Grande.In that game, Eastern held Walla Walla to just six second-half points.
