RAIN ROOFING OWNS HOT FIVE-GAME WIN STREAK

BAKER CITY — La Grande Rain Roofing American Legion baseball (12-4) is streaking by opponents thus far.

It has put together a five-game win streak after three wins this weekend.

On Saturday morning, Rain Roofing stomped Jerome of Idaho 13-1 in five innings.

Rain Roofing had six runs in the third off a Tyler Davis double, Jason Smith single, Shane Slover single, Cory Royal home run and Shawn Watson single.

Davis was 4-for-4 with one RBI and two doubles. Smith had a home run in the fourth.

Dollen Stroup surrendered one run in the first and recorded five strikeouts for the win. Stroup homered in the fifth.

In Saturday's afternoon contest, Rain Roofing beat Nampa, 10-2 in six innings.

Rain Roofing had three runs in the second and three more in the fifth to put the game away.

Aaron Thomas was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, two doubles and a stolen base to lead Rain Roofing.

Smith had a home run in the sixth. Zack Glasser homered in the fourth.

Glasser allowed three hits, two walks and got three strikeouts.

On Sunday, Rain Roofing squeaked out a 13-11 thriller over Treasure Valley Stars in six innings.

After the fourth, Rain Roofing held a 9-5 lead. Treasure Valley Stars rallied in the last two innings but could only muster six runs total.

Rain Roofing sealed the game in the sixth with four runs.

Stroup was 3-for-4 with four RBIs, a double and home run.

Smith had a homer in the sixth.

Thomas gave up nine hits, three walks and struck out three.

Rain Roofing plays Pendleton there Tuesday in a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
