ASHLAND Southern Oregon upset the 13th-ranked Eastern Oregon womens basketball team Thursday night, but Albertsons win over 23rd-ranked Western Baptist kept the Mountaineers in first place.

Sara Marks scored 28 points to lead the Raiders to a 90-81 victory over the Cascade Collegiate Conference-leading Mountaineers, snapping Easterns four-game winning streak.

Western Baptist was a half-game behind Eastern and stayed there after Albertsons 56-52 victory in Salem.

After the teams had three ties and four lead changes in the first 18 minutes, Southern fashioned a 46-40 halftime edge and never trailed again. Eastern cut the margin to three, 53-50, four minutes into the second half, but the Raiders went on to lead by as much as 13.
