UMATILLA The La Grande Tigers won all but one varsity tennis match Thursday against Umatilla.

The Tiger boys, led by Levi Morrisons 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2) victory over Damian Wolfgram, won three singles matches and three doubles matches.

The No. 1 doubles team of Greg Schuft and Tyler Lester also won in the third set, beating Adrian Palomino and Brandon Ybarra, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3).

Overall, I thought everybody played pretty well, La Grande coach Mike Schireman said. As a team we need to serve a little better. We missed a lot of first-serve opportunities.

The girls team was led by Haley Hines victory over Patty Mendoza, 6-1, 6-3.

La Grandes only loss came in the No. 1 doubles match, where the Tigers Stephanie Keith and Hillary Girrard lost to Jasmine Manning and Marlena White, 6-3, 6-3.
