POCATELLO, Idaho John Tuck of La Grande improved upon his Greco Roman finish by placing fourth in the freestyle division Saturday at the Western Regional Wrestling Championships here.

Tuck, 10, took fifth in the Greco Roman division Thursday, and came out strong in the freestyle. He pinned three of his first four opponents in the 87-pound midget division, but fell in his final two matches.

Taylor Meeks of Washington earned an 11-7 win over Tuck in the third/fourth place match. That came after Tuck was pinned by Nicholas Sierra of California.

Tuck pinned Wyatt Holtman of Idaho in one minute, 23 seconds in his opening match, followed by a pin over David Rios of California in 1:43. Tuck lost an 11-1 decision to Dillan Hansen of Idaho but rebounded to pin Mitch Schlaero of Wyoming in 2:36 in his next match.

Tracey Huffman, 9, of La Grande competed in the 65-pound midget freestyle division.

Huffman won his opening match and then beat Derek Gerratt of Idaho. In his final two matches, he lost to Alex ODonnell of Washington and Raider Lofthouse of Utah.
