TURNER'S THREE TDs HELP EAST TO VICTORY

McMINNVILLE — Powder Valley High School graduate Brody Turner was named offensive player of the game after scoring three touchdowns Saturday for the East team in the annual Oregon East-West Eight-Man All-Star Football Game.

Turner helped the East to a 44-38 victory. Brad Burright of Ione scored the East's other three touchdowns.

Powder Valley's Ryan Browne had a key fumble recovery in the fourth quarter, according to Powder Valley coach Alan Stanfield, who was one of the coaches for the East.

Powder Valley's Riley Martin and Cove's Lester Locken also played in the game, which features the top eight-man football seniors from the 2001 season.

Burright was named defensive player of the game, and Quentin Shank of Adrian was named most inspirational player for the East.
