PENDLETON — What a difference two days makes. The La Grande boys golf team shot a combined 430 — that’s 57 strokes less than in their season opening invite. Wildhorse’s expansive greens caused the Tigers’ troubles. “The biggest problem was chipping and putting,” LHS head coach Ron Evans said. “At Wildhorse the greens are so large you can leave very lengthy putts. We played well and made improvements. That’s all you can ask for.” Mitchell Henry led the team by carding a 96. Jordan Bohlender, from Kamiakin High School, Wash., and Scott Kim, from Hanford High School, Wash., shot 71 to lead the invite. Damion Telles from The Dalles shot 72 to take third. Kamiakin High won the tournament with a 305. La Grande’s Kelsey Fregulia slashed 58 strokes from the first invite to shoot a 117.
