Tourney takes over Union
UNION — The United Way golf scramble was held Saturday at Buffalo Peak Golf Course.
Ninety players competed in the tournament that had a four-person scramble format.
The team of Craig Hill, Pat Montgomery, Boyd Rasmussen and John Sutten shot a 58, tied with the group of Mike Hiatt, Deb Koopman, Rod Koopman and Alyse Meaghan.
But it was Hill’s team that won the tie breaker to take first place.
Bob Butler, Cally Goss, Mark Goss and Tanner Able shot a gross score of 59 for third place.
Scott Eddings, Rich Vaughn, Daniel Webster and Nicole Webster had the top net score with a 45.
Dwayne Craft, Karyle Kramer, Ted Kramer and Alan Perriman won the tie breaker for second place with a net score of 46.
Greg Ammer, Marke Jensen, Mike McCrew and Jeff Puckett took third.
Hiatt was the long drive champion for the men, while Bill Sanders had the long drive for men 50 and older.
Nicole Webster had the long drive for women with a 0-24 handicap, while Caroline Ware had the long drive for women with a 25 and higher handicap.
John Chamber and Kathi Karnowski were the closest to the pin winners, and Steve Savage won the putting contest.
