UNION COUNTY ADVANCES

By The Observer

Union County survived a late Pendleton charge to advance in the championship bracket Monday at the District 3 Girls Little League Juniors Softball Tournament.

But Pendleton chipped away, scoring runs in the fifth and sixth innings before erupting for six runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Even though its bats werent hot, Union had plenty of help getting on base. Pendletons pitching issued 10 walks and hit two batters during the contest.

Pendleton was eliminated from the tournament by Pilot Rock Monday, losing 9-8 after scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning.
