UNION TAKES THIRD AT BUFFALO PEAK

UNION — Jordi Steenstra shot an 83 leading Union to a third-place finish at the Buffalo Peak Invitational Friday.

Echo won with a team score of 338. Heppner was second with 339. Union's team score was 377.

For Union after Steenstra was Josh Smith, who shot an 87. Brian Kausler was next with 100 and Josh Steenstra had 107.

The Enterprise JV, Wallowa and Imbler JV teams finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. Kevin Gomes led Enterprise with an 89. Wallowa was led by Nathan Swift's 94. Imbler's top score came from Paul Forester, who shot a 99.

On the girls side, Riverside won with a team score of 372. Enterprise and Wallowa ended up second and third. Union did not have a complete team.

Kayla Miller shot 90 to lead Enterprise. Angela Bombaci led Wallowa with 105.

Union and Enterprise will compete Monday at pre-district tournaments at the Wildhorse Golf Course in Mission, the site of district tournaments May 6.

The Wallowa boys head Friday to the Enterprise Boys Invitational.
