La Grande 10/11 loses ELGIN — The La Grande playoff run is over, but the young all-stars got their money’s worth. La Grande fell to Baker City 15-13 in the 10/11 District All-Star playoffs Sunday. “I’m tremendously proud of these kids,” La Grande manager Matt Duncan said. “They showed their hearts today, and left it all on the field.” Pendleton defeated La Grande 14-0 in the opening game Saturday. After a three-hour marathon the baseball season ended in what looked like a Wild West shoot out. La Grande held a 8-5 lead after four innings. Then the wheels came off. Baker City took advantage of eight walks in the fifth inning — tacking on four hits — to score 10 runs in the fifth. La Grande rallied to pull within two runs in the sixth. But the rally fell short. Isaiah Cranford and Matt Duncan had a double apiece in the game.
