UNION — Union continued to surge like a giant wave Friday. The Lady Cats cruised past Adrian 11-1 and 12-0. “The girls are doing what needs to be done,” Union head coach Steve Robertson said. “We weren’t as patient at the plate today, but that’s going to happen sometimes when you’re trying to be aggressive.” Whatever the Lady Cats are doing is working. Shelbi Williams smacked two home runs during the doubleheader. She finished the day with 5 RBIs. Jessy Reynolds hit a solo home run in Game 1. Reynolds also ruled the pitching circle, collected wins in both games. She struck out 11 batters in a no-hit performance in Game 1. The sophomore came back with four strikeouts in two innings, before leaving with a 7-0 lead. Union will travel to Pine Eagle for a 10 a.m. doubleheader today.
