WALLOWA COUNTY'S REDNECK RODEO, A FAMILY-STYLE EVENT, BEGINS FRIDAY
ENTERPRISE The 4th annual Redneck Rodeo is Friday and Saturday at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds.
This is an old-fashioned, amateur family-style rodeo with events for all ages.
It will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The rodeo is also sponsoring a dollar-a-burger night at the Wallowa County Fair tonight.
Admission is $5 or $3 for children 12 and under.
Rough stock will be provided by John Ely's Bar X Rodeos of Asotin.
Featured will be bull and saddle bronc riding, calf and team roping and barrel racing for adults.
The junior division (age 14 and under) will include steer riding, junior barrels, break away roping, musical ropes and the hide drag race.
Events for kids 12 and under will be the chicken scramble and the pig scramble.
Ages 8 and under can participate in calf riding and peewee barrels. There will be mutton busting for those ages 7 and under or less than 60 pounds.
The announcer will be Lee Daggett. Gladys Nobles has been chosen as the 2002 Redneck Rodeo Queen.
