The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers will try to get their first football victory Saturday against the Northwest Conferences only undefeated team.

Whitworth (5-0) visits Community Stadium for a 4 p.m. kickoff thats part of Take a Kid to the Game Day. Admission for youth 12 and younger is free.

The Pirates, ranked 25th in the NCAA Division III, boast a record with three second-half, come-from-behind wins, including a 27-26 victory over perennial powerhouse Pacific Lutheran.

Whitworth quarterback Scott Biglin has engineered five last-minute, game-winning comebacks in his two years, including a three-pass, 66-yard drive in the final 36 seconds of last years game against Eastern. A 9-yard touchdown pass with 11 seconds left beat the Mountaineers, 17-13.

Eastern (0-6), meanwhile, has lost 12 in a row dating back to last season.

Were playing people in (their) really good years, football coach Rob Cushman said. We tell the players you cant control things that are out of your control.

The Mountaineers will start Ruben Villa at quarterback for the first time this season because of an injury to starter Mark Hanrahan, who tore the medial collateral ligament in one of his knees.
