The La Grande Tigers boys soccer team has added an Academic All-State award to its Eastern Oregon League title.

The team, which clinched its league title Saturday, had a cumulative grade-point average of 3.77, tops among boys soccer teams at all levels in Oregon.

La Grandes girls soccer team was also first among 3A schools with a 3.81 gpa, but St. Marys Academy of Portland had a higher gpa of 3.85.

La Grandes volleyball team was also in the top 10, fifth among Class 3A teams with a 3.62 gpa.

Wallowa had three teams in the top 10 at the 2A level. The football team was second at 3.43, the volleyball team was fourth at 3.80 and the boys cross country team was 10th at 3.39.

Enterprise had two teams in the 2A top 10. The football squad was tied for fourth at 3.29 and the boys cross country team was seventh at 3.59.

The Academic All-State awards are sponsored by the Dairy Farmers of Oregon.
