A male bank robber escaped with an undetermined amount of cash late Friday afternoon following a hold-up at

La Grandes Bank of America.

According to Sgt. Phil Myer of the La Grande Police Department, police were called at 5:46 p.m. to the bank. Officers immediately began searching the area near the bank looking for the suspect, who was thought to have fled on foot.

The suspect wasnt located.

Myer said this morning that no one was injured during the robbery, although the suspect appeared to be armed with a weapon.

La Grande officers and detectives, along with a deputy from the Union County Sheriffs Office and the areas FBI agent all responded to the scene and were involved in the investigation.

As police reports and investigations continued through the weekend, Myer said that there will be more information on the robbery Monday.
