TIGERS WIN HALF THEIR MATCHES, BUT MAC-HI WINS ON SIX FORFEITS

MILTON-FREEWATER La Grande won four of the eight matches it wrestled, but six forfeits cost the Tigers a 54-19 dual meet loss Tuesday against McLoughlin.

Levi Hug and Travis Carson had pins and Austin Zander took a major decision for the Tigers, who had two wrestlers out with injury and sickness and a third with too many matches.

Third-ranked Luke Kleck at 160 had to sit because hes up against the season match limit, so Dennis OReilly took his place and won a 10-5 decision over Steven Rice.

I was happy with the way the guys that wrestled wrestled, La Grande coach Miles Hancock said, especially OReilly jumping into the varsity lineup and doing how hes doing.

OReilly is now 2-0 in Greater Oregon League duals in place of Kleck.

Hug pinned Josh Grant in the third round of their 125-pound match. Zander had a 12-3 major decision over Shane Felton at 119.

Carson had a second-round pin of Andy Hatterley at 152.

Kleck will return to action in Thursdays dual meet at Riverside in Boardman. Hancock hopes to have back 189-pounder Jacob Cox, who has been sick. Shawn Hescock, a 140-pounder, has a rib injury and may not wrestle.
