Jaws of life: Powder Valley High School students had a chance last week to see how emergency rescuers use the Jaws of Life and their training to remove victims of crashes. The demonstration was organized by senior Amanda Blake, a member of the community's Quick Response Team who is planning to attend nursing school. The demonstration, using Blake's sister's wrecked car, also featured Blake giving a presentation to classmates as part of her senior project. The rescue equipment will be available for inspection from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the North Powder Fire Hall during an open house.
