Submersed in a field of blue camas flowers, Eastern Oregon University botany professor Karen Antell (far right) explains the distinguishing characteristics of native wildflowers Thursday evening. With authorization from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Antell leads the group of area outdoor enthusiasts through the Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area near Foothill Road, pointing out the variety of flowers and plants found in Eastern Oregon along the way.
