La Grande High School baseball player Aaron Thomas has racked up awards and honors since the season ended.

The senior outfielder was named to the all-Greater Oregon League first team, he was selected as the team's most valuable player and he has been named to play for the South team in the 23rd annual North-South Class 3A All-Star Baseball Series.

Thomas hit .500 for the Tigers this season with 10 RBIs, 39 runs scored and 24 stolen bases. As a pitcher, he went 3-2 with a 2.68 earned-run average and 26 strikeouts to 13 walks.

The all-star baseball series will be June 15-16 in Roseburg.

Two of Thomas' teammates were also named to the all-GOL first team: shortstop Zack Glasser and second baseman Jason Smith, both seniors.

Senior right fielder Adam Kleck was named to the second team, and senior first baseman Tanner Mellinger and senior outfielder Rob Searles were given honorable mention.

Smith and Glasser were named the team's outstanding offensive players while Mellinger was honored as the team's outstanding defensive player. Kelly Moore was named most improved player and Jeremy George was given the coach's choice award.
