"I've been on my own before and I've worked in large and small firms, and I like being in private practice best," Larvik said.

Larvik worked for a year for the law firm of Kell, Alterman and Runstein in Portland, doing mostly business, corporate and estate planning.

He had his own practice in Hillsboro for a year and a half, doing various types of litigation.

When he came to La Grande, his main cases mostly involved various types of litigation, three-fourths civil and some criminal.

The La Grande native, the son of Ron and Chloe Larvik, was active in drama and band as well as cross country and track and field at La Grande High School.
