Joanie Ezell, 6, of Hermiston jumps into the arms of her grandmother, Judy Meyer, at the Cove Pool Thursday afternoon. Ezell, one of the many children attending the Discovery Camp at the Cove Ascension School this week, takes advantage of the pool facilities on a daily basis. Seeking out water is one of several things people in the area are doing this week to beat the heat. La Grande's high temperature Thursday set a record at 105. The forecast for Saturday is for more of the same.
