UNION — The Catherine Creek Rodeo is still taking entries for rough stock riding this weekend.

The rodeo, which in the last several years has stuck with bull riding and barrel racing, has added saddle bronc riding and bareback riding this year.

Friday's 7 p.m. show at the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show arena will have mostly barrel racing, with a few bull riders if enough entries are received, rodeo organizer Ray McDaniel said.

Saturday's 7 p.m. show will have the bulk of the bull riding and other rough stock events, as well as more barrel racing.

To enter the rough stock events, call McDaniel at 562-6109 or 562-6142.

Admission to each show is $5. For tickets, call court princesses Holly Hardesty at 523-9094, Amanda Kullman at 562-6208, or Laura Osburn at 562-5296.

The annual family day is on tap this weekend, running from 10 a.m. to about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Livestock Show arena.

The rodeo is also raffling off a Wagu beef as a fund-raiser. A half-beef of the lean meat will be split between two winners. Tickets cost $5 each.
