PENDLETON Look out Class 3A, La Grandes boys golf team is on the rise.

The Tigers won the Pendleton Invitational with a season-best 304, with their top four players scoring in the 70s.

We tore the place up, La Grande coach Don McAndie said. We beat Pendleton on their home turf and theyre probably the top team in the (Class 4A) Intermountain Conference this year.

Pendleton was one stroke behind the Tigers at 305.

Zach Lauritzen, third overall at the 14-team tournament, shot a 73 to pace La Grande.

Enterprise, the two-time defending 2A-1A champion, had a 315 team score for fourth place behind Pendletons No. 1 and No. 2 teams.

Austin Livingston led Enterprise with a 75.

Enterprise coach Mike Crawford was pleased with his teams score, saying it was the best they had played this year.

Wallowa finished 13th behind Micah Pringles 99, and Union took 14th and was led by Josh Hewitts 103.

La Grande hosts its annual tournament Friday.
