ENTERPRISE — A Eugene woman was treated and released at Grande Ronde Hospital Friday after being flown there from the Eagle Cap Wilderness.

About 12:45 p.m. Jennifer Annonia, 30, was reported to have slipped and fallen an estimated 300 feet on a residual snowfield between Eagle Cap Mountain and Mirror Lake, 17 1/2 miles south of Enterprise.

The other eight members of her party brought her off the mountain on a tarp. They had reportedly been backpacking in the area since Tuesday.

A U.S. Forest Service employee reported the accident and continued to provide critical communication assistance.

The Forest Service helicopter based at Sled Springs flew Forest Service emergency medical technicians to the scene to treat Annonia, who had reportedly suffered a head injury.

Boise Life Flight was dispatched to fly Annonia to

La Grande, where they arrived at 4:23 p.m.
