Vivian Trezona



Vivian Ruby Trezona, 82, of Enterprise died Sept. 1. A graveside service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Enterprise Cemetery.

Mrs. Trezona was born Oct. 29, 1919, to Charles and Ethal Skaggs. She attended school at the Pratt School on Alder Slope and graduated from Enterprise High School in 1937. She married Wayne Nedrow on Aug. 14, 1937. The couple homesteaded on Courtney Creek near Flora. After Mr. Nedrow's death she moved to Enterprise to care for her mother, and married Robert Trezona in November 1971. She worked at the Circle-T Cafe, Toma's Restaurant and later for Boise Cascade as a weigh-master until her retirement.

She was happiest when doing things for others and supported FFA and 4-H. She enjoyed making wedding cakes, cooking for family and friends, and driving her red Oldsmobile with her dog, Spooky. She was known for her sense of humor and for telling great stories.

Survivors include a step-son, Robert Trezona of Montana, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Bobbie Couch of Wallowa. Her husband, Robert, died in 1985. Her daughter, Delta Rae Nedrow, died at birth. A son, Roger Ray Nedrow, died in 1997.

Wayne Lang

Formerly of Union


Richard "Wayne" Lang, 33, of Portland and formerly of Union died Sept. 3. The cause of death is being determined. A memorial gathering will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Overlook Park in Portland. Burial and a graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the Union Cemetery. Aftercare Cremation Services in Portland is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lang was born Aug. 12, 1969, to Bob and Pat Lang in Knoxville, Tenn. He grew up in the Portland area and attended Glencoe High School in Hillsboro. He worked for local contractors as a roofer and enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.

Survivors include his parents of Union; sisters and brothers and their spouses, Kathy and Beau Joseph of Union, Roxanne Lang of Portland, Tim and Tina Lang of La Grande, Robert and Debbie Lang of Forest Grove, Rick Lang of Portland, and sister-in-law Christina Lang of La Grande, a grandmother, Mildred Maples of Maynard, Tenn., and other relatives.

Dollie Jewell

Formerly of Wallowa


Dollie Ilene Jewell, 67, of Juneau, Alaska, and formerly of Wallowa, died Sept. 3 of natural causes. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at Bramlet Cemetery near Wallowa. Alaskan Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jewell was born Sept. 22, 1934, to Levi and Helen Johnson in Wallowa. She married Jack Jewell in 1952 and spent most of her life in Eastern Oregon. The family moved to Juneau in 1987. She worked for a cable company in La Grande and became the business manager for GCI in Juneau. She retired in 1999. She was a member of the ladies' auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in La Grande and in Juneau. She enjoyed traveling and looked forward to new adventures.

Survivors include her husband; their daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Graham, Elizabeth and Jeff Landvatter, and Laurel Carlton, all of Juneau, Barbara and Larry Druesedow of Nikiski, Alaska, and Leslie and Jim Frey of Eagle River, Alaska; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Sasser of Wallowa; sisters-in-law, Ilona Johnson and Judy Parrish; and nieces and nephews. A brother, Steven Johnson, died earlier.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Art Erhman Cancer Fund of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 259, 1212 Jefferson Ave., La Grande.
