La Grande had its way with the shorthanded Madras tennis team Saturday.

The Tiger boys and girls won 4-0 as Madras only brought two singles players and two doubles teams.

Everybody played well. I thought we matched up well with Madras, La Grande coach Mike Schireman said.

Brenna Hines stepped up from the No. 3 singles spot into the No. 2 position and beat Brandy Jorgensen 6-3, 6-3.

Shes definitely improving, Schireman said. For her to move up into the second spot and get a win there was great.

Schireman was also pleased with the play of Marianne and Katie Westenskow in the No.1 doubles match.

La Grande travels to Hermiston Tuesday.
