OK, how about a new clock, mirror, hair products, 18 holes of golf, pigskin work gloves, four days of dog boarding at a kennel, or dinner out? Just about something for anyone is being auctioned off today and Sunday during the annual 4-H Leaders Association Radio Auction. Lists of the items being auctioned are available in the March 1 editions of The Nickel and The Valley News, and the items are being described on KCMB-FM 104.7 radio. The auction is the sole annual community-wide fund-raiser put together by the volunteer 4-H leaders. The money raised during the auction helps fund leadership programs for the adult volunteers and 4-H members, helps underwrite trips to training sessions, and is the primary funding method for ribbons and prizes for 4-Hers competing at the Union County Fair. The auction continues until 2 p.m. today and restarts Sunday at noon, continuing until 4 p.m. Along with the auction, the radio time provides a chance for 4-H members to explain their involvement and learning experiences in the 4-H program.
